How Microsoft (MSFT) is Using Generative AI

November 15th, 2023

Microsoft has announced the integration of generative AI technology into its key security services through Microsoft Security Copilot. This move, unveiled during the Ignite conference, aims to leverage the rising interest in generative AI, which gained attention with OpenAI's ChatGPT in November 2022. The company is merging Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender XDR, and Microsoft Security Copilot into a unified platform, allowing cybersecurity professionals to utilize generative AI for threat detection and response in English. Additional language support is planned for the future. The integration is expected to streamline response coordination and enhance analysts' ability to query security information and event management data for threat identification and remediation. Microsoft also plans to extend Security Copilot to various data protection offerings.
